What is Orienteering?
instructors will teach you the skills required to navigate around an orienteering course using a map to gain as many points as you can within a given time.
Orienteering is a great activity to get a team working together or as a fun family day out.
Many people have the impression that orienteering is a less than exciting sport, in fact it's quite the opposite; orienteering is a fun and challenging activity that will get you out into nature! Give it a go!
have a permanent orienteering course set up around Coniston water and the surrounding fells which makes for a great day out in canoes or on foot.
also use orienteering venues in and around Lancashire and Manchester.

Gorge scrambling and canoe orienteering
Aug 2022 • Family
What an amazing experience! The activities were made suitable for 8-50yrs! With all of us having a fantastic time . A very skilled instructor who encouraged you throughout. Highly recommend this experience of scrambling up a gorge, followed by an afternoon orienteering in a canoe on the lake. A wonderful day out - thank you!

Perfect afternoon for a hen do activity
Apr 2022
We booked an afternoon canoeing with Adventure 21 for a hen do group of 11. We went out with Dave and had a fantastic time! Dave really read the group well and pitched the perfect afternoon for us. Those who were up for it got wet, and those who were a little more hesitant were able to stay dry and happy. Even though the weather was against us at one point, it did not dampen our spirits and Dave did such a great job at keeping morale up. We canoed to a small beach and had a picnic, before doing an orienteering competition, and those who wanted to had fun jumping off a small jetty.
All in all it was a fantastic afternoon (all thanks to Dave!) and I don't have a single complaint!

A brilliant trip to Coniston. Canoe orienteering followed by paintballing. Great hosts with Dave, Aaron & Lewis, who made us feel very welcome & were more than happy to help with anything. Beautiful scenery both on Coniston Water & down in the woods where the paintballing is held. Will definitely be heading back

Canoe orienteering and axe throwing
We are a large group of friends and have been coming to Bowness for different activities with Adventure 21 for many years. We have never been disappointed and always enjoy and have lots of laughs This year we did canoe orienteering and axe throwing and thoroughly enjoyed them both. Can't recommend then highly enough. We will be back again next year without fail.

Dog friendly orienteering- brilliant day!
After a training session on map reading and all the dogs were raring to go, each team set off following the given map and set of clues. Finding the hidden markers at each point, or rather trying to find them as quickly as we could LOL! made a real fun day, and a 4 hour walk for the dog! Dog toys and treats all round at the end. What a great idea. We're (that's humans and dog) are ready for the next one! Definitely recommend. Thanks for a great day Adventure 21!
